Workshop Details

AI? IA? Machine learning? Come along and learn to use these technologies to design the services of the future. This workshop is built around Futurice’s design tools, including Future Forces 2018, our IA design toolkit and Lean Service Creation. It demystifies machine learning and helps designers and non-tech experts to create smart service concepts.
We start in the morning by exploring anticipated future forces and trends. After exploring these phenomena, we start building service concepts. In the afternoon we add intelligence augmentation to the concepts and create a fast prototype. At the end of the day teams present their work for their peers, then we conclude with drinks and a Q&A session.
The workshop is held at Futurice’s Helsinki office. You will be in capable of hands of our design experts: Virpi Vaittinen (future research), Annina Antinranta (Service Design), Aino Maijala (Service Design), and Daryl Weir (Data science). We will also have our Futurice colleagues from various disciplines facilitating the teams. Teams are formed on location. You can come alone or with your friend.
No need for laptops, unless you want to make notes for yourself. We will provide all tools as well as coffee, lunch, and drinks after the workshop. Come along and get inspired!

Why Attend

With new and emerging technologies, it’s important to have a shared understanding of terms and concepts across design, technical experts, and business units. Machine learning in particular presents a lot of new concepts and unique challenges that need to be understood by all parties. The Customer journeys are becoming complex, omnichannel and tech heavy. We need to design services that make sense to the customers and truly fills their needs. We will give you tools for preparing for the unknown.

For Who

Anyone interested in creating future smart services, no tech background needed.

Content

We help you bridge design and tech, stay tangible and to make the complex simple. You’ll get a basic understanding of machine learning and how to design smart services, keeping the human factor in focus.
